Vanilla Sky

Today I was running errands all day long and just as I walked in home I saw the sky outside my window. I don't think I'd be lying if I was to say that I've never seen such colours in my life. There was nothing else for me to do but grab my camera and run outside. On my way out my little Breton insisted she tag along, usually she's hiding in the bathroom all day long this time of year (darned firecrackers petrify her), but this time I guess she didn't want to miss the show. And what a show indeed. The sky was changing by the minute. As the sun was setting the colours were shifting all around, plus it was windy so the clouds were all over the place and the visibility was excellent.
While taking some shots someone called out to me. There was a man in a parked car across the street from me. He wanted to know if I've ever taken my dog hunting... we shared a laugh after I explained my dogs unrivaled bravery and love for loud unexpected sounds. He said he was waiting for his wife while she was shopping in the store, makes sense don't it (sorry ladies but ain't that always the case ). We chatted for a while, all while enjoying the spectacle in the sky, much better pastime than waiting in a car I bet. Turns out he was an artist, painting with airbrushes and sculpting, and a former photographer by profession. After some time had passed he noticed his wife was now waiting for him in the car. When he asked her why she hadn't said anything she said he looked like he was enjoying himself so she didn't want to disturb him. Nice lady. We parted ways there.
In the end It's all about the small things, the simple stuff that make your day. That's life for ya.
